Extropia Defense Force

To Protect and Defend the World of Tomorrow

Kaigun Shōi Naval Ensign Pikajuna is volunteered for kamikaze missions against Caledonian Agressor Empire by kindly grandfather!

Now she drinks a rice wine and dies for Extropian Co-Prosperity Sphere! She fall into a burning ring of fire!

Down, down, down... and the flames went higher! She hear ancestors weeping! Weeping, weeping!

...And it burns,burns,burns
the ring of fire
the ring of fire.
;-)
I'm not sure that we have the numbers to throw away lives on suicide missions though!
I think we need to look for success though superior technology (sadly we lost some of our better craft due to the recent Caledon-Extropia Protocol)

Ehrm... well then...

I was not aware of such hostilities between our fair nations. I always though of Caledon and Extropia as more like-minded even though at different areas of the historical timeline.

This makes co-operation between EDF and RCAF a bit sticky, eh what?

A spy! Quick, shoot him... erm... her... (er... what are you at the moment Phin?)

Just sporting rivalry between home teams ;-)

(actually I find it a little odd that Extropia should have any kind fighting force!)

*Laughs and laughs*
It is a bit odd, isn't it? "The future is bright, the future is happy, the future has hi-tech weaponry strapped to the underside of faster-than-light aircraft."

Someone did once remark on their first visit that Extropia felt like Iain M. Banks' Culture though, and I couldn't agree more. Even prosperous societies need some manner of armament. It gives us something to do, protects our interests should anyone have aggressive intent on our lands and lends Extropia some manner of patriotism. If nothing else, a brief look over our forum will show a number of folks now developing exciting new gadgetry on a military creativity budget. How fitting for a keen technocracy that creativity itself can be considered as budgeted!

Cornelius is right, though. Kamikaze pilots in a squadron of perhaps a dozen makes for a short-lived force indeed! I do imagine that Nomi would make a pretty firework, though.

"Obedience" sounds rather totalitarian to me

It seems to me that 'obedience as totalitarian' compares quite lightly to Kanomi's tragic and pointless kamikaze mission just now. Is no-one in Caledon even aware of Kanomi's smoking wreckage? Was her sacrifice not only misguided, but unnoticed?

Poor, poor 'Nomi... I shall avenge her death by... er... talking to this 'kindly' Grandfather. Yes, a good talking to. That'll do it.

Anecdote is humbly offered as an explanation to my whereabouts, and why I have been AWOL from the Royal Caledonian Air Force for several *cough* weeks and AWOL from the Extropia Peace Pilot's Friendly Association since its, well, inception...

Ah Ha! I knew we had an MIA pilot! ;-)

So that was what rattled the china at Miss Snougheet's tea party and disturbed the petunias. ;)

Is it too late to organise a search party? Our new old Mossies are great for that task.
(I really need to check all the Nings I belong to more often. Self-correction is in order!)
